Historic Stone Arch Bridge

Built in 1923, this bridge over the Cottonwood River is next to All Veterans Memorial. No longer used for vehicle traffic, the bridge is a favorite spot for fisherman. As you stroll through the memorial, you'll be able to hear the waterfall.

Sertoma Mini Train

Located in Soden’s Grove Park (across the road from All Veterans Memorial). The mini train operates from June 1 to August 31, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and 9am to 11am on Thursdays.

Cottonwood River Trail

The Cottonwood River Trail is an .87 mile long nature trail that connects the All Veterans Memorial to Peter Pan Park. The trail is open to both hikers and cyclists. Local VFW post 7957 helps to maintain the trail.

Downtown Emporia

Located just a 4 minute drive north of the All Veterans Memorial. Visit beautiful Downtown Emporia for shopping, restaurants, cultural attractions, and historic architecture in a walkable area.

David Traylor Zoo

Located across the road from the All Veterans Memorial, David Traylor Zoo is another Emporia gem. Admission is FREE. See lemurs, prairie dogs, a mountain lion, birds, lush botanical displays, water features and more.

Annual Veterans Banner Display

Visit Downtown Emporia from mid-October to mid-November to see the annual display of Veterans Banners. Over 200 banners line Commercial and Emporia State University, honoring area Veterans and active duty service members.
